This creative workshop focuses on yoga postures done with the support of a chair. Seated and Standing work poses are beautifully blended into asanas that encompass a creative strength building and flexibility-promoting workout. A union of mind, body and spirit are at the heart of this program with special attention focused on activities of daily living and the ability to rise, fall and flow by oneself. Supported by a group of like-minded individuals, this program has far-reaching positive effects on aging exercisers of all shapes and sizes, building communities with a mindful attention to self-awareness. YOGA TOUCH (Workshop / Class 1-2 hours)

Enjoy this yoga class, which balances strength and stretch, earth and sun, power and grace. Learn valuable techniques to touch your students physically and verbally. Using body weight and light manual touching, experience ways to connect with your students to motivate them to better posture, proper alignment and greater challenge all within the effective environment of a yoga class. YOGA RHYTHM DANCE (Workshop 1-1.5 hours / Class 1 hour)

Connect yoga poses using the musical rhythms in 32-count combinations. Relax and re-balance yourself and your students while applying graceful movement patterns to clear stress, release tension and reinvigorate your body and mind. Build patterns to improve posture, strength and flexibility while keeping even the most distracted student engaged. YOGA WITH A TWIST (Workshop / Class 1-1.5 hour)

Enjoy this rhythmic yoga class, which focuses on yoga poses that rotate. Put to 8 count music, this non-traditional yoga program mixes classic poses with a fluid array of position variations to leave both beginning and intermediate instructors a with a fun, new twist. (Equipment: Yoga Mats)

YOGA FOR THE YOUNG AT HEART (Workshop / Class 1.5-1 hours)

Yoga has positive effects on inevitable decreases in power, strength, aerobic capacity and flexibility that occur after age 50. This session integrates both mat and chair yoga and focuses on maintaining independence, avoiding injuries and improving quality of life. Postural alignment, muscle/movement balances and maintenance of mobility create a union of traditional and restorative yoga perfect for active 50-90 year olds. A summary of the aging process blends with practical recommendations regarding safe and effective movement for multiple yoga poses creating vinyasas that every instructor can utilize.
